Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This page explains which cookies and browser storage utera.co uses, and why.

1. Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. If you choose “Accept” in the cookie panel, two analytics services are loaded, and they set their own cookies:

  • Google Analytics (Google) — _ga and _ga_<id>: tell visits and sessions apart to produce usage statistics. Kept for up to 2 years.
  • Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd.) — _hjSessionUser_<id>, _hjSession_<id> and related cookies: record how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, pages visited) so we can improve the site. Kept for up to 1 year.

If you choose “Necessary only”, neither service is loaded and no cookies are set. There are no advertising or social-media tracking scripts, and fonts are served from our own domain.

2. Browser storage

The site keeps one small entry in your browser:

  • utera-consent (local storage) — remembers your answer to the cookie panel, and when you gave it, so we do not ask again. Kept until you clear it.

These entries hold no personal data, are never sent to a server, and are strictly necessary for the site to work as you would expect, so they do not require consent.

3. Third-party sites

Links to WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Instagram take you to services we do not control. Those services may set their own cookies once you visit them; please refer to their cookie policies.

4. Managing storage

You can clear or block cookies and site storage at any time in your browser settings. Blocking site storage will not affect your use of the site — the cookie panel will simply ask again on your next visit.

5. Your choice

On your first visit a panel at the bottom of the page asks for your preference: “Accept” or “Necessary only”. Google Analytics and Hotjar run only if you have chosen “Accept”; with “Necessary only”, the site uses nothing beyond what is strictly necessary.

You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing your consent stops both services from loading; cookies they have already set can be deleted in your browser settings.
